Zanjan (Persian:زنجان, Azeri: زنگان) is the capital of Zanjan Province in northwestern Iran. It is an Azeri Inhabited city. It lies 298 km (186 mi) north-west of Tehran on the main highway to Tabriz and Turkey and approximately 125 km (80 mi) from the Caspian Sea.

The souvenirs of Zanjan are handcrafts like different kind of knives (penknives, switch-blade knives, pocket knives, chicken knives, jack knives and carving knives) , hand-woven carpets , rugs, local sandal called charogh and Filigree works (silver crochet works) like tea-servers, frames, bowels and pots which tourists are highly interested in.
